Faculty Advisory Board Meeting Held

📅 On 11 September 2025, a Faculty Advisory Board Meeting was held at our Faculty to strengthen academic and sectoral cooperation.

The meeting was attended by:

🔹 The Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry of Balıkesir,

🔹 The President of the Balıkesir Province Veterinary Doctors Association,

🔹 The Chief Physician of the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Animal Shelter,

🔹 Our Faculty's Academic Administrators and members of the Faculty Advisory Board.

At the opening of the meeting, our Faculty Vice-Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem EROL and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murad GÜRSES presented a general assessment of our Faculty's education and training activities, research and development work, and collaborations with the sector.

Subsequently, the Dean of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ziya İLHAN, shared his views and suggestions with the invited institutional representatives on developing veterinary medicine education, field applications, and the adaptation of graduates to the sector.

📌 Main topics discussed at the meeting:

Updating education programmes in line with sectoral expectations,

Expanding practical training and internship opportunities,

Assessments regarding the employment of graduates in the public and private sectors,

Opportunities for collaboration on joint projects and activities.

The meeting was concluded productively with a mutual exchange of ideas. Our faculty evaluated topics for potential collaboration with partner institutions and organisations to strengthen cooperation and to increase and accelerate efforts towards the goal of training qualified veterinary surgeons.
