2 - 5 October Balıkesir Agriculture and Livestock Fair
Hosted by Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, the second Balıkesir Agriculture and Livestock Fair opened with a grand ceremony this year.
The opening ceremony was attended by İzmir MP Haydar ALTINTAŞ, Balıkesir Governor İsmail USTAOĞLU, Balıkesir Garrison and 9th Main Jet Base Commander Air Force Pilot Brigadier General Gökhan GÜRAKAR, Balıkesir Chief Public Prosecutor Abdülkadir AKIN, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet AKIN, Balıkesir University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih SATIL, Karesi District Governor Metin ARSLANBAŞ, Balıkesir Provincial Police Chief Şükrü YAMAN, provincial protocol, industry representatives and citizens.
Balıkesir University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was among the prominent participants at this year's fair. Our faculty shared the scientific studies and projects of our university in the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry with visitors at the stands it opened together with the Animal Husbandry Research and Application Centre and the Technology Transfer Office.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih SATIL and our Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Ziya İLHAN also took a close interest in the visitors at the stands. Our faculty members received considerable attention as they provided information about scientific research aimed at increasing productivity in animal husbandry and university-industry cooperation projects.
Protocol members and participants visiting the fair had the opportunity to closely examine the contributions our university makes to agriculture and animal husbandry through the work of our Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
