Direct Livestock Support from the Producer
📍 Balıkesir / Balıklı Village
Our faculty continues to bring its academic contributions to the field in Balıkesir, known as the ‘Province that Feeds Turkey,’ with a focus on developing animal husbandry.
In this context, Balıklı Village, where intensive buffalo breeding takes place in Balıkesir, one of the leading provinces in our country in terms of buffalo population, was visited and producers were met.
🐃 The information meeting was attended by our Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Ziya İLHAN, Director of the Livestock Application and Research Centre Prof. Dr. Şükrü Metin PANCARCI, and Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem EROL and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murad GÜRSES. The meeting addressed current practices in animal health and scientific approaches to increasing productivity.
🔬 In the assessments made by the faculty management, it was emphasised that breeders can consult our faculty on technical and scientific issues, and that our Animal Hospital and laboratories accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry are at the service of producers.
🤝 At the meeting, which attracted considerable interest from producers, it was stated that the University-Producer collaboration would be strengthened to continue contributing to regional animal husbandry.
🙏 At the end of the programme, thanks were extended to Hakkı Peltek, President of the Balıkesir Province Buffalo Breeders Association, and Yahya Küçük, Headman of Balıklı Village, for their hospitality and contributions.
