Strategic Partnership for Dairy Cattle Farming Between Balıkesir University and the Balıkesir Breeding Cattle Farmers’ Association
A “Strategic Development and Cooperation Protocol” aimed at contributing to the development of the dairy cattle sector has been signed between Balıkesir University and the Balıkesir Province Dairy Cattle Breeders’ Association.
Under the protocol, signed by Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu and Association President Hasan Çetin, the aim is to support science-based development in the dairy cattle sector in Balıkesir, covering breeding, productivity, animal health, genetic improvement, herd management, digitalisation and sustainable production. Furthermore, the parties will carry out activities in the fields of education, knowledge sharing, research, field applications and technical consultancy.
At the protocol signing ceremony held at the Rectorate, BAÜN Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt, Prof. Dr. Murat Doğdubay, Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Prof. Dr. Ziya İlhan, Director of the BAÜN Institute of Health Sciences and Director of the BAÜN Animal Husbandry Research and Application Centre Prof. Dr. Şükrü Metin Pancarcı, and the management of the Balıkesir Province Breeding Cattle Raisers’ Association.
Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu and Association President Hasan Çetin, who signed the protocol, expressed their hopes that the forthcoming collaboration would be beneficial for the institutions and for the livestock sector in Balıkesir.
