They Brought Hope to Nature…
A little owl (Athene noctua) found on the ground and unable to fly by one of our students on the Balıkesir University campus has been admitted for treatment at our Faculty’s Animal Hospital.
During an examination carried out by Dr Ayşegül Karaahmetoğlu Çoban, a lecturer in the Department of Wildlife Diseases at our Faculty, it was determined that the little owl was unable to close its right toes due to trauma caused by a collision. The treatment and care process was carried out with great care.
Having regained its health, the little owl was released back into the wild on the University campus, its natural habitat, in the presence of officials from the Balıkesir Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks and students from our Faculty.
As the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Balıkesir University, we continue to value the lives of all living creatures.
