Pursuant to Article 30 of Law No. 2809, published in the Official Gazette No. 27028 dated 18.10.2008, our faculty, which is currently under establishment within our university, will carry out the following activities: breeding, production, improvement of breeds, and increase in productivity of pets, small and large livestock, and poultry; the protection of their health, the treatment of their diseases, the prevention of epidemics, the fulfilment of preventive medicine duties in diseases transmitted from animals to humans, the control of the quality and suitability of animal products for human health, environmental pollution, and the marketing of live animals and animal products.

In the 2011 - 2012 academic year, education began with 21 students admitted through the ÖSYM supplementary quota at the Çömlekçi Campus, and in the 2014 -  2015 academic year, it was relocated to its current location at the Çağış Campus.
