A memorial service was held at our faculty in memory of Research Assistant Dr Mustafa KORKMAZ
A memorial service was held at our Faculty for Dr Mustafa KORKMAZ, Research Assistant at the Department of Veterinary Anatomy within the Department of Basic Sciences, who tragically lost his life in a road traffic accident the other day.
The event was attended by our University Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel OĞURLU, as well as Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Cevdet AVCIKURT, Prof. Dr. Murat DOĞDUBAY and Prof. Dr. Fatih SATIL. The programme was also attended by the family members of the late academic, as well as Deans, Directors, academic and administrative staff, and students from various departments.
Speaking at the memorial service, our Faculty Dean, Prof. Dr. Ziya İLHAN, described the late Research Assistant Dr. Mustafa KORKMAZ as an exemplary academic in terms of his character, academic work and interpersonal skills, and expressed the deep sorrow felt at his untimely passing. Noting that Dr. Mustafa KORKMAZ had made significant contributions to our Faculty and our students, our Dean, Prof. Dr. Ziya İLHAN, emphasised that the late academic would always be remembered with respect and affection within the university community.
During the programme, our students and staff also took the floor to share their feelings and thoughts regarding Research Assistant Dr Mustafa KORKMAZ. The programme, which was marked by emotional moments, concluded with a recitation of the Holy Quran by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Assoc. Prof. Dr Murat AKKUŞ, followed by a prayer.
