Academic Cooperation Meeting between BAÜN Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Cizzak Polytechnic Institute
An important online meeting was held between Balıkesir University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Uzbekistan Cizzak Polytechnic Institute to strengthen academic cooperation. During the video conference, the potential for joint work and project development in academic fields between the two institutions was discussed in detail.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ziya İLHAN, Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murad GÜRSES, Head of the Department of Animal Science and Animal Nutrition Prof. Dr. Ergün DEMİR, Head of the Department of Animal Science Assoc. Prof. Dr. Büşra YARANOĞLU, and faculty members from the Department of Food Hygiene and Technology Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan TAVŞANLI, Lecturer Dr. Nisanur Ektik SEZEN, and Lecturer Dr. T. Elif GÜNER. The Uzbekistan side was represented by Associate Professor Egamnazarov Ğayrat, Head of the Department of Agricultural Food Techniques and Technologies, Professor Bahodir Xoldorov, Associate Professor Zohıd Djamalov, Associate Professor Jafar Shamshiyev, Associate Professor Zohida Norqulova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gözal Qobilova, and Head of the International Department Muhriddin Eshqulov. Shahlo Hoshimova, a doctoral student at Tashkent State Agricultural University and a research assistant at Cizzak Polytechnic Institute, who is currently visiting our Faculty, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, bilateral cooperation models that could be implemented between the two institutions in line with the areas of expertise of the academic staff were evaluated in detail. Mutual agreement was reached on developing joint research projects in priority areas such as animal production, food safety, and agricultural-food technologies; exchange of undergraduate and postgraduate students and academic staff; and preparation of joint courses, summer schools, and certificate programmes.
Furthermore, the joint use of laboratory infrastructure, new project proposals, joint scientific publication efforts, and the possibility of the two institutions jointly organising symposiums and workshops were also discussed.
The meeting concluded with the hope that the cooperation would be implemented with concrete steps as soon as possible and with mutual expressions of gratitude.
