Academics and Livestock Farmers Gathered in Susurluk
The third edition of the “Breeders’ Meetings”, organised by the Balıkesir Breeding Cattle Raisers’ Association, was held in Susurluk. The programme, which aimed to contribute to the development of livestock farming in the region, brought together academic knowledge and practical experience.
The meeting in Susurluk was attended by District Governor Turgut Gülen, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Balıkesir University Prof. Dr Ziya İlhan, and Association President Hasan Çetin, alongside a large number of breeders. The event addressed topics such as sustainable livestock farming and increased productivity.
As part of the programme, specialist academics from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine delivered comprehensive presentations on proper nutrition, calf health and foot diseases. Farmers had the opportunity to ask their questions directly to the experts and engage in one-to-one communication.
The programme, which attracted significant interest, concluded with a question-and-answer session moderated by Prof. Dr. Ziya İlhan.
