Our Faculty Animal Hospital has become an important centre for the treatment of both domestic and wild animals thanks to its advanced diagnostic capabilities and comprehensive clinical services.
🔹 The hospital, which provides services in internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, artificial insemination, and advanced laboratory units, also accepts referrals from cities such as Aydın, İzmir, Çanakkale, and Edremit, in addition to Balıkesir.
📈 Patient Numbers Are Rapidly Increasing
• Approximately 2,000 animals are treated at the hospital each year.
• This number is expected to exceed 4,000 next year.
• In 2025, applications increased by 40% compared to last year, and the total number of patients is expected to exceed 6,000 next year.

In addition to pets such as cats, dogs, and birds, farm animals such as sheep, goats, and cattle are also treated.
Furthermore, wrestling and show camels, which are important in the region, are successfully treated in the hospital's surgical and internal medicine departments.

Many wild species, particularly birds, brought in due to trauma and illness are treated by specialist teams at the hospital.
It is noted that in recent years, there has been a significant increase in cases involving pet birds presenting with issues such as inability to fly, lameness, and inability to lay eggs.
🧬 Advanced Laboratory Facilities
Numerous biochemical, haematological and genetic analyses can be performed in modern laboratories.
DNA-based sex determination can be performed with 99.9% accuracy using parrot feather samples sent from various provinces across Turkey.
Additionally, diagnoses are made for bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal diseases affecting animal health in the region.
