Our Faculty Academics Met with Producers in the Field
Our faculty members continue to bring their academic knowledge and experience to the field by meeting with livestock producers in rural areas.
In this context, at the invitation of Mehmet AKBULUT, Head of Bigadiç Çömlekçi Village, our Faculty Dean and Professor of Microbiology Ziya İLHAN, Prof. Dr. Erdoğan UZLU, Faculty Member of the Department of Internal Medicine, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem EROL, Vice Dean and Faculty Member of the Department of Surgery, visited the village and met with livestock owners.
During the visit, comprehensive information was provided on animal health, early diagnosis of diseases, preventive medicine practices, and current treatment methods. The academics answered questions from producers based on scientific data and offered solutions to problems encountered in the field.
Detailed information was also shared about the faculty's laboratory facilities, the infrastructure of the Animal Hospital, and the practices carried out for animal health. The meeting highlighted the importance of cooperation between the university and producers, emphasising that the reflection of academic knowledge in the field makes significant contributions to animal husbandry activities.
The visit, which attracted considerable interest from citizens who expressed their satisfaction, concluded in a cordial atmosphere. It was stated that such activities, which the Balıkesir University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine carries out in close cooperation with the community, will continue in the coming period.
