Pet Grooming Training at BAÜN: A Qualified Step into the Industry

The “Pet Grooming Training: Introduction and Industry Perspective” programme, organised in collaboration between the Balıkesir University Centre for Continuing Education, Application and Research and the Savaştepe Vocational School, has been successfully completed.

The opening address of the programme was delivered by Prof. Dr. Hasan Hüseyin ŞAHAN, Director of Savaştepe Vocational School. As part of the training, participants were provided with comprehensive information from both academic and sectoral perspectives.

In the first session of the training: Prof. Dr. Ziya İLHAN, Dean of our Faculty, spoke on “Zoonotic Risks and Hygiene”; Prof. Dr. Ş. Hakan ATALGIN, a lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Anatomy, spoke on “Basic Anatomical Structure and Sensitive Areas”; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem EROL from the Department of Veterinary Surgery on “Emergencies and First Aid”, and Dr. Mehmet ÖZÜİÇLİ from the Department of Veterinary Parasitology on “Ectoparasites and Prevention Methods”. The presentations, delivered by experts in their fields, provided participants with significant insights into the scientific foundations of the profession.

In the second session, Gözde KİRTİL and Yavuz PEKSÖZ shared introductory and practical information on the pet grooming profession. Participants had the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of current developments in the sector and acquire knowledge about professional practices. The programme, which enabled participants to gain both theoretical and practical skills in the field of pet grooming, concluded with the presentation of certificates.
