The 2025-2026 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held at the Presidential Complex
The 2025-2026 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held at the Presidential Complex with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The ceremony was attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Higher Education Council President Erol Özvar and state officials, as well as ministers, members of the Higher Education Council, heads of relevant institutions, ambassadors, rectors, academics and students.
Balıkesir University Delegation at the Ceremony
Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, accompanied by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl, our Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Ziya İlhan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Science and Letters Prof. Dr. Aylin Er, and Faculty of Sports Sciences Lecturer Prof. Dr. Özkan Işık, who was invited to the ceremony as a member of the 2025 YÖK Outstanding Achievement Awards Commission, along with our students representing our university.
Following a moment of silence and the recitation of the Turkish National Anthem, a musical performance was given by the Ankara Music and Fine Arts University Turkish Music Orchestra, accompanied by Çiğdem Gürdal, an artist from the Ankara Turkish World Music and Dance Ensemble affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's General Directorate of Fine Arts. This was followed by the screening of a promotional film about Turkish higher education.
The ceremony concluded with speeches by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, the presentation of the 2025 Higher Education Council Outstanding Achievement Awards to their recipients, and a group photo session.
