The second “Breeders’ Meetings”, organised in partnership between BAÜN and the Balıkesir Cattle Breeders’ Association, took place in Savaştepe

The second of the Breeders’ Meetings, organised under the cooperation protocol signed between Balıkesir University and the Balıkesir Province Breeding Cattle Raisers’ Association, was held in Savaştepe.

The event was attended by Savaştepe Mayor Ali Koyuncu, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Prof. Dr Ziya İlhan, Association President Hasan Çetin, and academic staff members Prof. Dr Göksen Ayalp, Prof. Dr Uğur Aydoğdu and Assoc. Prof. Dr Murad Gürses.

During the event, faculty members from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine delivered informative presentations to breeders in Savaştepe on topics related to their areas of expertise. Throughout the programme, breeders’ questions were answered, and a productive environment was created through mutual exchange of ideas to address on-the-ground needs.

The farmers who attended the event expressed their satisfaction at having the opportunity to communicate directly with the academics and requested that similar activities continue.

In his closing remarks, Savaştepe Mayor Ali Koyuncu thanked Hasan Çetin, President of the Balıkesir Province Breeding Cattle Farmers’ Association, for his efforts in organising the event, as well as the academics who contributed and all the farmers who took part.

It is hoped that this direct link established between the university and producers will make a significant contribution to the widespread adoption of sustainable and efficient livestock farming practices, with the aim of providing on-the-spot solutions to the problems faced by farmers.
